Blå Åskhök är, precis som hans far Thunder Hawk var, ett riktigt gott exempel på en “Dakota Stout”. Det var den norra präriens gamla ranchers och nybyggares lilla, men kraftfulla och uthålliga arbetshäst som länge var framgångsrik på prärien men med tiden ersattes av de större percheron- och ardennerhästarna. Från sin far har han också ärvt ett fantastiskt lugnt och trevligt temperament, Thunder Hawk var hingsten som bar Seth genom en Minneapolisförort i rusningstrafik och lika glatt följde efter nerför trapporna till källaren i boningshuset på Kuntz ranch.

Blå’s mor vittnar också om arvet från de gamla rancherna, men som den högre, mer långbenta ridhästen. Hon är dotter till Blue TT som var av stark ranchtyp och även en av rancher- och rodeolegenden Tom Teschers favoriter bland hästarna i Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Så Blå är redan klart högre än sin far och har lite kvar att växa än, även om han inte kommer nå det storleksmässigt högsta Nokota®skiktet. Men en gentleman av särdeles stora mått, det är han.

Blå Åskhök is, just like his father Thunder Hawk was, a perfect example of a “Dakota Stout”. That was the northern prairie’s old ranchers’ and settlers’ little, but powerful and tough work horse that long was successfuul on the prairie but eventually got replaced by larger percherons and belgians. From his father Blå also inherited a wonderfully calm and nice disposition, Thunder Hawk was the stallion that carried Seth through a busy Minneapolis suburb as well as followed him down the stairs into the basement of the house on the Kuntz Ranch.

Blå’s mother also tells of the rancher heritage, but as the taller, more long legged riding horse. She is a daughter of Blue TT who was of strong ranch type and also and thus one of the rancher and rodeolegend Tom Tescher’s favorites among the wild horses in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. So Blå is already clearly taller than his father and has some left to grow although he won’t reach the tallest heights among Nokotas®. But a gentleman of exceptional measures he surely is.
